The
Association of Parents and Teachers (APT) is a friendly
group of people, parents (past and present), staff members
and friends of our school. Our main aim is to organize
events to help raise money to buy items that the school
is not able to include in their budget. The APT enjoy
organising social events, not just to raise money, but
also to bring children, parents, friends and staff together.
Last Summer's talent show was an excellent example;
everyone turned out on a lovely summer's evening and
had a wonderful time.
During the year we organise many events: Christmas Fayre,
Easter Bingo, Summer Talent Show, School Discos and
mufti days. All of these events enable the APT to purchase
many items for children at our school such as a giant
Connect Four, full size table football, giant Jenga.
All of these items are for lunch time play. Each class
has received a portable CD player. The school now has
our own Disco equipment, hopefully this will cut down
the cost of hiring. Last but not least, the very latest
items to be purchased are five large picnic tables for
those children who would rather sit and read or draw
at playtimes.
The APT hold regular meetings usually at the end of
the school day in the computer room. A committee is
elected annually at the AGM usually held before the
Annual Parents Meeting. This is a very worthwhile way
of both helping our school and getting to know other
people better.
