Autumn Term 2 Part 2 2025-2026

The second half of this term is all about 'In The Sea'. - we will be looking at pirates and treasure, and creatures under the sea.

And then, of course, there's CHRISTMAS!! Be prepared for glitter and sparkle!

Hedgehogs will be starting to access resources independently and learning to work together in a team and Squirrels will be learning about friendships and starting to play together to achieve a goal.

In maths Hedgehogs will be looking at matching and sorting and Squirrels will be looking at number recognition and how we use numbers. We will be learning about patterns and sequences.

Literacy will be all about treasure maps, looking at how we can use words and pictures to find out information and pass information on. We will be using our developing fine motor skills to create our own maps, paper boats, models of strange underwater creatures, and making Christmas decorations!

In science we will be looking at floating and sinking and discussing why we think some things will float and some will sink. We will be learning to use the internet to discover how such huge ships are able to float and how submarines are able to spend so much time under water.

We have very kindly been donated a Christmas tree this year so all the children will be helping to decorate it, making their own decorations and working together to make it look just the way they want it to.

Squirrels are taking part in the Nativity play in church with Holly class so everyone is busy learning new lords and signs ready for the big performance.

We hope you all have a lovely break over Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year x
