We believe in learning through play. This enables children to think for themselves, assess and take risks, communicate with each other, and to work together to solve problems.

Without any adult intervention the children here communicated their ideas, planned and sourced resources, worked together to create their bridges, and built them together as a team. The older children made it as safe as they could and tested it out before helping the younger ones across. Each child knew that they could communicate their need for help if they so wished. As each child crossed the planks they were given shouts of encouragement, and as they reached the end and jumped off every child clapped and shouted out 'well done'. So much was learnt from this activity which was completely child led and was accomplished through play.
