Magnets - learning about attracting and repelling, finding things in the room that are magnetic, and things that are not.

Using magnets in play - puzzles and games.

The children enjoyed looking at the lightbox, using different coloured lights to see which ones gave the best definition to an object. We then used the transparent coloured shapes to see how the colours changed and what new colours we could make.

We looked at capillery action, using paper towels, pens and water, to make a rainbow. We learnt that this is the way in which plants and flowers drink their water in order to grow.

The children then carried on the experiment independently.
