Year 2 have been busy learning all about plants in science. We’ve been exploring what plants need to grow and stay healthy. As part of our investigations, we planted cress seeds and kept a close eye on them each day, watching how quickly they grew. We also observed sunflower plants and recorded how they changed over time.
To help us understand what plants need to survive, we set up experiments by changing different conditions—some plants had no water, others had no light, and a few had no soil. The children made predictions and observed the results carefully, learning that plants need water, sunlight, and soil to grow well.
