Year 2 have been developing their musical skills this term through a range of fun and engaging activities. They have been learning to play simple songs on the bells, focusing on following rhythms, patterns, and working as a group to keep in time.

As well as playing instruments, the children have been learning to sing a variety of songs, exploring pitch, dynamics, and melody. They have been practising finding and keeping the beat, using actions and percussion to help them stay in time with the music.

They have also been listening to different genres of music, from classical to pop, and traditional music from around the world. The children have enjoyed talking about how the music makes them feel and spotting the different instruments they can hear.

It’s been a joyful and creative time in Year 2 music lessons, with lots of opportunities to listen, perform, and explore music together.
