Over the next three weeks up until Easter we are going to be looking at 'All About Me'.
We will be looking at how we grow, our similarities and differences, and our families and traditions.
Our Home Corner will be just that - an area designed as a home, with the 'babies' and with dressing up clothes.
In maths we will be matching and sorting, grouping and counting, completing puzzles, and matching shapes. We will be comparing our heights and using numbers to see how many children have similar features (eye colours, hair colours etc) and which groups have more or less.
In literacy we will be talking about our favourite books and starting to look more closely at rhythm and rhyme.
Hedgehogs will be starting to respond to pictures and words, repeating refrains and making some recognisable marks.
Squirrels will be looking at how books are read, and held, and how we can get information about the things we are interested in from them.
Hedgehogs will be looking at the colours around us, different ways of mark making, and different kinds of music.
Squirrels will be mixing colours to make new ones, starting to make recognisable pictures and art, and moving their bodies in time to music and rhythm.
Our phonics focus will be oral blending, rhyme, and segmenting, with Hedgehogs experimenting with instruments and sounds, and Squirrels starting to show recognition of some letter sounds, and demonstrating good listening skills. They will also be learning how to clap out syllables in names and words.
We will be celebrating Ramadan and Eid through crafts and art, and looking towards Mother's Day at the end of the month. In the last week there will be many Easter crafts and activities on offer too.
RED NOSE DAY 21st MARCH 2-25
This will be a 'Pyjama and Bedhair Day'!!
Please feel free to wear your pyjamas, mess up your hair, and bring a bear! All donations will go to the Red Nose Day fund.
We would also like any baby pictures and more recent pictures that we can print off please. This will be part of a matching game for adults and children alike!
We will be looking at families and family trees on the last week so if you have any information your child could use for this please let them or us know - names of parents, grandparents and siblings so we can help the produce a little family tree of their own if they want to.
