This term is all about Our World

We start with looking at space, followed by our planet, and then under the sea.

We will be talking about our place in the world, our feelings, and looking at our place in the community. We will be going on walks around our village, visiting places of interest and seeing if we can spot our own homes.

In maths we will be looking at patterns and sequences, and  combining shapes to make new ones. We will be matching numerals with quantities, and pairing numbers in games and puzzles

In literacy we will be looking at mark making and how we write - top to bottom, left to right, and writing our names independently.

In stories we will be talking about what might happen next and starting to make up our own stories.

Phonics is all about environmental sounds (on our walks), instrumental sounds and body percussion, and rhythm and rhyme. We will be starting to look at alliteration and the older children will start to learn about oral blending.

We will also be practising for Sports Day over at the main school and the doer children will be starting their school visits.
