We are going to be looking at People Who Help Us for the next two weeks.
Following on from our Superheroes topic over the last three weeks we will looking at our very own Superheroes - the people around us, in our families and our communities, and the things that make us a Superhero too!
In maths Hedgehogs will be looking at number recognition and matching small groups to numerals. Squirrels will start to learn about 3D shapes and more and less in small groups of objects.
In literacy Hedgehogs will be using large motor movements to form circles and lines, transferring these skills into smaller movements to make lines and circles in different media - sand, water etc. Squirrels will be using our topic to help them create their own stories, looking at how stories are written and read.
Hegdehogs will start to use materials to build and connect, creating structures using different resources. Squirrels will be copying letters from their names and starting to write them independently. They will use their imaginations to draw, paint and create.
In phonics both Hedgehogs and Squirrels will have daily sessions using games and resources to learn about rhythm, rhyme, and alliteration. Squirrels will start to look at simple CVC blending.
If any Superhero parents, carers, or friends would like to come in and tell us about their work, they'd be very welcome!
